What is Play Therapy?
Play therapy is a gentle, child-led approach that supports children to express and process their thoughts and feelings through play.
For young children, play is their natural way of communicating. When something feels overwhelming or difficult to put into words, it often shows up in their behaviour, emotions, or interactions. Play therapy provides a safe and supportive space where children can explore these experiences at their own pace.
Through play, children are able to:
express feelings they may not yet have words for
build confidence and emotional regulation
make sense of their experiences
strengthen their sense of safety and connection
At Yura, play therapy is grounded in a relational and attachment-focused approach. This means we support not only the child, but also the connection between you and your child, helping you feel more confident in understanding and responding to their needs.
